My opinion wouldn't have much weight.

I think a lot of people don't think about the braking. Although, most people I know with a 1/2 ton have a towing package with extra braking power added to their trucks. (not sure if that is sufficient though??)

Most of us would love a semi and a 4 horse trailer and an experienced driver to haul us around the countryside. I sure would! Just need to go buy a lottery ticket now! :-)Laurahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07940386405998853917noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2113210295764288330.post-43010462392633689092014-06-27T06:21:09.270-05:002014-06-27T06:21:09.270-05:00I think you are 100% right that a 1/2 ton is not e...I think you are 100% right that a 1/2 ton is not enough to haul a horse trailer very often or far. When I bought my 08 3/4ton I had more than one salesman try to tell me I could make due with the newer 1/2 tons. I told them no, I would like my transmission to last a while! I only pull a 2 horse steel slant load with tack room and I still feel it with my 3/4 ton couldn't imagine trying to pull it with anything smaller.Sarahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09631559529163466736noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2113210295764288330.post-9398146442786764052014-06-26T21:34:36.281-05:002014-06-26T21:34:36.281-05:00*My* dream truck was a 7.3 liter Powerstroke with ...*My* dream truck was a 7.3 liter Powerstroke with less than 100k miles on. My husband insisted on buying new. We couldn't afford anything bigger in a gas engine, and I sure as hell didn't want to beta-test Ford's latest attempt at meeting diesel emissions.

I really hope my F-150 lasts til it's paid off, and maybe a bit longer, before I go looking for my used diesel dream. I know it's got no resale value, but it's never had any resale value. Buying new is always so painful.

Anyway, for a compromise vehicle, I'm just delighted with its performance.Funderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06358687366401205336noreply@blogger.com
