I don't think I'd have it in me to actually kill the mama racoon.

Luckily, our island coons are not generally aggressive, and according to the vets, no rabies cases here (yet - we still vaccinate though). Changing the cat feeding time has mostly solved the issue.

I'm sorry to admit, but reading about your bowl-throwing coons had me busting a gut. I know I didn't miss because I counted nine entry holes and nine massive exit holes. Save yourself the trouble and the pellets and go back to throwing avocado pits!

JasonAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2113210295764288330.post-73412463280606737622015-06-17T21:14:05.677-05:002015-06-17T21:14:05.677-05:00That photo still has me chuckling...

Meaning I grabbed whatever was closest - an avocado pit actually - and chucked it at her. She chased the pit down and tasted it.

Enter the Red Ryder pellet gun.

Warning shots over the bow had zero effect. Hungry coon didn't even stop scarfing to glare at me. Next I popped her in the ass. She literally, I kid you not, turned around and quizzically parted the hair where I'd shot her - at close range - and went back to stuffing her face.

Coons 2 - humans 0Calm, Forward, Straighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08360276614916635500noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2113210295764288330.post-11758886390179210802015-06-17T10:31:13.648-05:002015-06-17T10:31:13.648-05:00My standard response to those with romantic notion...My standard response to those with romantic notions of farm life is "Grab that muck fork and get to work!"EvenSonghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02032555334605790413noreply@blogger.com
